Book Review of How They Croaked

How They Croaked: The Awful Ends of the Awfully Famous

Bragg, G. (2011). How They Croaked: The Awful Ends of the Awfully Famous. NY: Walker.

How They Croaked is a nonfiction book that details how 19 of the worlds most famous people died and all the gory details that come along with it. Each chapter features a famous dead person. Albert Einstein, Charles Dickens, George Washington and Cleopatra are some of the famous figures in the book and each chapter details their life and, more specifically, their death.

This book was morbidly fascinating. I was so intriguing to read how primitive some of the medical techniques used to be. This book was entertainingly gross and made learning about these famous figures quite fun. I also loved the fun vocabulary used in the book and couldn't put it down once I started reading it. I recommend this book for ages 10 and up.
